Pastor Meyer comes to us as a vacancy pastor, that is, he will be serving us while we seek a new "permanent" pastor.  During this time, Mt. Olive will be going through the "calling process" for a new pastor.

Pastor Meyer has been a clergyman for 41 years. He has served as a foreign missionary, as a pastor in Hawaii, as the Principal of the Lutheran High School in Hawaii, as a hospital chaplain in a large urban hospital, as a pastor of two congregations in California, and as an interim pastor in two congregational situations (one in Nevada and one in California), He is fully certified as both a chaplain and as an interim pastor. His experience base is broad.

Pastor Meyer’s wife, Judy, is a retired parochial school principal. She lead schools in Hawaii and in two congregations in California. The Meyers have two children, both married and living in the Seattle area. They spend their time with their five grand children.

“Working at Mt. Olive is an exciting ministry,” according to Pastor Meyer. “While every congregation has the potential for change, this transition at Mt. Olive will allow us to deepen our dependence upon God who loves us very much.”
